da stake casino: After Arsenal thrashed Burnley 3-0 at home this past weekend, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger hailed Alexis Sanchez as similar to Barcelona’s Luis Suarez.
da spicy bet: The Chilean was described as a similar player as the Uruguayan by the French manager because he shares similar qualities as forwards, not for his desire to bite opposing defenders…
When asked if Sanchez reminds him of Suarez, Wenger said: “The similarities are there. Both can play on the flanks and through the middle. Both are quick going down when they lose the ball. Both go quick to the ball always and want the rest (of the team) to go forward.” Wenger also added that the Chilean’s confidence and understanding with other Arsenal players is much better now as well compared to what it was at the start of the season.
The Frenchman also drew another similarity between the two players, as he said: “When Suarez gives the ball to an opponent, he wins it back straight away. Sanchez is the same, there is no time between the offence and defence. The transition is very quick. And they are very quick as well.”
Arsenal’s gaffer makes a strong point about Sanchez and Suarez being similar type players. Both players are strong at passing, taking direct free kicks, long shots and key passes. They also have a similar style of play, as they both like to cut inside, and perform layoffs with team mates.
Looking at how both players played in England during their respective times in the Premier League, Sanchez has scored seven goals from nine appearances, taking on average 3.1 shots per a game. If he carries on at this pace and avoids injury, the Chilean could score around 30 goals this season for the Gunners, which isn’t far off what Suarez was able to do for Liverpool last season.
The Uruguayan was able to score 31 goals from 33 appearances last season for the Reds, but he had a far superior shot per game average than that Sanchez has so far this season, taking on average 5.5 shots per game. Sanchez is most likely going to have to increase his shots per game average if he wants to match the heights of Suarez from last season, and this may be tough due to Arsenal having other goal scoring threats in Danny Welbeck, and Oliver Giroud when he eventually returns from injury.
Nevertheless, this kind of performance from Sanchez is an encouraging sign for fans as the Gunners aim for another top four and possible title run, similar to what Suarez was able to help Liverpool to do in the league last season.
Arsenal recorded a second straight win for the first time this season thanks to a brace from Sanchez, and also a first senior goal for defender Calum Chambers.
Wenger’s side are now unbeaten in their last 23 home Premier League matches. Their next opponents are Anderlecht at home in the Champions League, and Swansea away in the Premier League. Will we see another Suarez-esque like performances from Sanchez in these two games? Maybe…
