According to The Telegraph, Leicester, Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham are all interested in Adam Lallana, who is out of contract this summer.
What’s the story?
The 31-year-old, who joined Liverpool in 2014 for £25m when Brendan Rodgers was still manager, has less than six months left on his current deal at Anfield and, with no new contract currently on the table, he is likely to depart the club at the end of the campaign.
No clues: Can you name the season these iconic Liverpool images belong to?
There will be no lack of suitors though, with a quartet of clubs already being linked with a move for the former Southampton man. In fact, the report adds he “will have his pick of clubs nearer the top of the Premier League by the time he makes a decision”.
Right time to depart
It may not shock many people that the former England international is set to leave Merseyside in a few months – this season under Jurgen Klopp, he has made just seven starts in all competitions – but Lallana has been a part of the fabric at the European champions in recent years.
He is just one of three players to still be part of Klopp’s squad since he arrived in October 2015 – the other two are Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson – meaning that he has overseen all of the changes the former Borussia Dortmund boss has made. Lallana has rarely been a regular – he has made just 172 appearances in six years at the club – but it is a testament to his ability that Klopp has kept him in his squad year after year. The 52-year-old is clearly a fan – he singled him out for praise against Manchester United, Aston Villa and Everton already this year.
It is incredibly hard to earn a regular spot in this Liverpool starting line-up – they are 22 points clear at the top of the table after all – but Lallana has proven his worth even this campaign. He has even featured in defensive midfield at times – a position he is deeply unfamiliar with – whilst he also scored the equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, the closest the Reds have come to losing their unbeaten record this season in the league.

This is a player who, at his peak, scored eight goals and made seven assists in one Premier League season, which is good going. He deserves a move to a club where he will feature more often, and you would expect that to be the case amongst most of those aforementioned clubs. However, before his potential move, he has a league title to win, whilst Champions League and FA Cup victories are not out of the question either. He deserves a fitting end to what has been a solid career at Liverpool.
Meanwhile, this Liverpool man is of interest to one of his former clubs.
