da roleta: Petr Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar has released a statement confirming that the Arsenal goalkeeper will not leave the club this summer amid speculation over his future.
What’s the word?
da luck: The former Chelsea man has come under criticism this season, particularly after he gifted a goal to his old club a couple of weeks ago when he sent the ball directly to Cesc Fabregas.
There was talk that the 34-year-old would be dropped by manager Arsene Wenger for Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Hull City, but he kept his place in between the sticks.
Cech has managed to keep just eight clean sheets in 25 appearances this season, but it seems as though he is still trusted to hold the number one spot.
Wenger recently batted away reports that he is interested in signing Manchester City outcast Joe Hart at the end of the season, and now Cech’s agent has insisted that his client will remain at the Emirates until the end of his contract, which expires in 2019.

TalkSPORT quotes Kolar as saying:
“Petr’s position at the club is very secure and a summer transfer can be ruled out. Petr will be part of Arsenal until at least the end of his current contract and I am convinced that he will continue to have a leadership role in the team. Petr Cech is a guy who is serious, wants to do well, he prepares well. Overall he’s had a good season.”
Do Arsenal need a new keeper?
Cech has suffered with inconsistency at times this season, but he has not been guilty of making regular howlers throughout the campaign.
His experience is vital in the Premier League and he is still up there with the best of them in the division, so offloading him now would be too hasty from Arsenal’s point of view.
If the Gunners had a world-class keeper lined up, then replacing Cech would be justified, but at the moment there are not many shot-stoppers in that category available.
As for Hart, he would be a good buy for Arsenal, but there is likely to be competition for his signature, with numerous clubs, including Liverpool, being linked with the England international.
The 29-year-old is currently on loan at Torino from Manchester City.
