da winzada777: Everton manager Sam Allardyce may consider making a move for Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose, according to the Daily Star.
What’s the story?
da fezbet: The England international has been heavily tipped to leave the North London club, with the January transfer window over the horizon.
After Rose’s explosive claims in the summer, in which he criticised Tottenham’s wage structure and questioned their ambition, there has seemingly been no way back.
The left-back has now dropped below Ben Davies in the pecking order and the Daily Star claims that Spurs will sell for £45m.
Manchester United are the frontrunners for Rose’s signature, but the newspaper reports that Everton could also be a potential destination.
It is believed that new manager Allardyce will be given substantial funds to spend in the January window.
Do Everton need Rose?
The club’s first-choice left-back is Leighton Baines, but at the age of 32 he is entering the latter stages of his career.
Rose would be a perfect replacement at Goodison Park, but it would be a shock if the Toffees managed to pull off a move.
The 27-year-old has made it clear that he would like to return to the North of England at some stage, but if United are in the running, then it would be difficult to overlook the Premier League giants for Everton.
The Toffees have had a tough run this season and Allardyce’s priority is to make sure that the club finish in the top half of the table.
At United, Rose would have Champions League football and be part of a team that can challenge on all fronts.
At this stage of his career, it would be a huge surprise if the Englishman chose Everton over Jose Mourinho’s side.
