da poker: Sheffield Wednesday were desperate for a win heading into their game against Charlton, and they managed to come away with all three points.
da apostaganha: The Owls may have had to rely on a 95th-minute winner to get past Lee Bowyer’s side, but they more than deserved their victory.
Indeed, the Yorkshire club dominated proceedings, they had 24 shots compared to Charlton’s six, and they also had a higher portion of possession, enjoying 56% of the ball.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t capitalise on any of these chances for the first 94 minutes of the match, and that may have been down to one tactical tweak Garry Monk made.
With Wednesday desperate for a win, the former Birmingham City boss tinkered with his side, opting to go for a two up top with Fernando Forestieri partnering Connor Wickham.

Forestieri isn’t a natural striker, playing there just four times in 131 games for the Owls, and you could tell that he wasn’t fully comfortable leading the line against the London club.
The former Watford man is a talented player, previously being voted Player of the Year at Wednesday, and he didn’t necessarily have a bad game.
The Italian actually played quite well, he made two key passes and he was often in the right positions, managing to get a remarkable 11 shots off at Hillsborough.
The problem is that he doesn’t have the finishing instinct of a striker, eight of his shots were off target, and the three that troubled Dillon Phillips didn’t end up beating him.
Wednesday’s build-up play presented the Argentine-born Italian with a high number of chances, 11 shots is an astounding number, but his lack of composure and finishing ability led to him drawing a blank.
Compare this to Steven Fletcher when he came on – three shots, three on target, one goal.
It’s clear that Forestieri is a good player, and he has a lot to offer the Owls, but Monk must end this experiment of trialling the 30-year-old as a striker. He should move him back into a deeper role instead.
In other news, one Wednesday player hasn’t been doing enough since signing.
