Tottenham have apparently turned their attention to Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, The Daily Mail report.
The White Hart Lane club are undergoing something of a squad revamp this summer, with Jan Vertonghen and Gylfi Sigurdsson already joining the north London club.
Andre Villas-Boas is eager to bring in a long-term replacement for ageing Brad Friedel, and is a fan of France international stopper Hugo Lloris.
However with Lyon rating Les Bleus’ captain at around £16 million, Spurs may well turn their attention to the Roma goalkeeper.
Stekeleburg joined the Stadio Olimpico outfit last summer from Ajax for a fee of around £5 million, and is valued at £8 million currently.
The Netherlands international has failed to settle in Italy and is believed to be keen on a move to England to join former club colleague Vertonghen.
Luis Enrique signed Stekelenburg for Roma but has since resigned as coach, and as such a move could well be on the cards.
